Experience the Northern Lights in Nusfjord Village & Resort

What are the Northern Lights?

The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon caused by solar particles colliding with the Earth’s atmosphere, creating waves of green, pink, and purple light across the Arctic sky.

The best time to see them in Lofoten is late September to early April, when long, dark nights and Nusfjord’s remote location away from city lights create ideal viewing conditions. 2025 is expected to be one of the best years for aurora sightings, as it marks the peak of the 11-year solar cycle.
