In 2026, Nusfjord Village & Resort and Fotografiska will unite to bring a landmark photography exhibition to the heart of Lofoten. Set against the dramatic Arctic landscape, this collaboration celebrates the meeting of art, culture, and hospitality — transforming one of Norway’s most historic fishing villages into a living gallery beneath the northern light.
A Meeting of Art, Culture, and the Arctic.
Nusfjord Village & Resort and Fotografiska unite in a landmark collaboration that brings world-class photography to one of Norway’s most extraordinary natural settings. Rooted in a shared belief that art and nature inspire deeper connection, this partnership celebrates creativity in all its forms—where the silence of the mountains meets the pulse of human imagination.
“We are honored to collaborate with Fotografiska on this extraordinary project,” says Caroline Krefting, owner of Nusfjord Village & Resort. “It was the contrasts that struck me most—the rawness of nature against the refinement of art, the silence of the mountains meeting the pulse of human creativity. To now see this project come to life is truly a value for life—both personally and collectively.”
Together, Fotografiska and Nusfjord will create cultural experiences that transform the way guests engage with both art and the Arctic landscape.
The Global Home of Photography and Culture.
Founded in Stockholm in 2010, Fotografiska is the world’s leading destination for photography and visual storytelling, with locations in Stockholm, Berlin, Shanghai, and Tallinn—and soon, Oslo. Each Fotografiska museum serves as a vibrant hub where art, ideas, and community intersect.
“We believe photography should travel as far as our curiosity does,” says Bárbara Garcia, Chief Executive Officer of Fotografiska. “Teaming up with Nusfjord lets artists and audiences meet in a place that’s as unforgettable and inspiring as the work itself.”
Guided by the belief that photography is the most inclusive and impactful art form of our time, Fotografiska continues to inspire new perspectives through ever-evolving exhibitions and cultural programming.
An immersive experience in the Arctic light
From March to October 2026, Nusfjord will host an exclusive Fotografiska x Nusfjord Exhibition, featuring internationally acclaimed photographers Rinko Kawauchi and Elizaveta Porodina. Presented against the dramatic backdrop of the Lofoten Islands, the exhibition celebrates Fotografiska’s 15-year legacy while offering a glimpse toward its Oslo opening in 2028. This moment marks a new chapter in Nusfjord’s cultural journey—where art, hospitality, and the Arctic environment come together in perfect harmony.
To mark this extraordinary collaboration, Nusfjord Village & Resort will host a series of immersive events celebrating art, culture, and gastronomy. In April 2026 our guests can look forward to an intimate opening gathering and a signature Fotografiska x Nusfjord Weekend, where photography, fine dining, and nature converge in unforgettable ways.
